Our green bean buyer Alison sat down with us to share more on her trip to Sumatra: # The unique pruning method in Takengon makes the coffee tree look more like a bush - with an open top, they are able to control for moisture which keeps disease and pests from propagating. # Future delicious coffee in its green form - coming from a “fly crop” which allows for an extra harvest if all the conditions align. # Song and smiles make for happy beans - one farmer broke out into song as a way to explain his long and prosperous harvest season # Aceh coffee is a traditional brewing method with a large coffee sock, tons of grounds and a “hot water dance” to get the rich earthy cup this region is known for. #fairtradecoffee #drinkmct #takengon @ Montana Coffee Traders
